Isla has been thisclose to holding a toy over the past couple of weeks and tonight she picked up some toy keys a few times and played with them for several minutes -- and Dad was there with the camera (also she looks especially cute in her daycare outfit today, so it's a two'fer)!!
Today was Isla's first day of daycare and mom was really boo-hooing (I'm not even going to post the one pic of her crying...) - but here we are walking into the daycare. Miss Lilly was GREAT to Isla and they called us with updates throughout the day!! All in, it went better then could have been expected...still sad, though. =(
Grandma Uszler is in town until Saturday morning...
...Isla looks super cute, per usual...
...not seen here is the great Father's Day presents Isla got me (handmade card and some rare specialty beer glasses with matching beers), also we went to lunch at The Happy Gnome and had our great friends Zander and Joanna over for juicy lucy's on the grill!!!
Isla has discovered in the last two days (of course when Dad is traveling) her hands, ears, hair and fingers -- she always was a pretty good "self soother" but now she's sucking her thumb -- we don't know whether to think it's the cutest thing in the world or start saving for braces!
So, Laura hasn't had sushi in close to a year -- so this was a chance to meet up with our great friends Jer and Nickie and catch up over some rolls and nigiri! Isla had other plans - as she lost her mind at the restaurant (first time she's really done this, she normally gets a B+ for her restaurant behavior)! But she eventually calmed down and we were able to enjoy the night and our time with Jer and Nickie!! Big shout out to Jer for his ability to concoct the perfect ensemble of rolls and sashimi for the table -- well done again old buddy, well done!!
Here are a couple of pictures of us strapping Isla into her BOB running stroller to see if she's big enough for Mom to start running / racing again -- we think she fits, but barely. Either way, how cute are these pictures of the little Bean in the big ole stroller?!?
Isla's worst day ever -- the dreaded 2 month vaccines. I think everyone was crying as Isla had all 3 shots stuck in her legs -- she was SCREAMING and then held Dad super tight when they were all over...poor Isla!! It stinks to see your little girl in pain...but at least now the probability of her catching the whooping cough is statistically impossible.
